Our fantastic Artistic Director is Irene Gehre. Irene has grown up performing in a variety of venues and groups throughout the city, including: Doña Ana Youth Choir, MHS Choirs, Las Cruces Community Theater, Rio Grande Theater, University Singers, Las Cruces Friends of Chamber Music, Doña Ana Lyric Opera, Renaissance Faire Singers, and various Jazz and Rock bands. An alumnus of New Mexico State University, Ms. Brink holds a degree in Music Education as well as a Master’s of Music. She is also Orff Level 1 certified and holds a level 2 teaching license for the state of New Mexico. Presently, Irene teaches choir at Vista Middle School.
Mark Klett has been with Singing Out for six seasons. Mark began taking piano lessons when he was five years old and continued taking lessons until high school and has never stopped playing since. He began playing in many bands, playing a variety of music including rock, metal, pop, and country. Now he is a music teacher at the Academy of Music and Dance where he has been giving private piano and guitar lessons for five years. He also has his own recording studio that he uses to record both other artists’ music and his own.
We would also like to acknowledge and thank Carrie Hamblen, the current CEO of the Las Cruces Green Chamber of Commerce, for providing song introductions and emceeing for SOLC’s concerts. Thank you Carrie!
Our Group Photographer
We would like to credit our very own Carol Buschick, Singing Out chorus member and photographer extraordinaire, for taking all of our our group photos. It’s a task she tirelessly takes on each season at concert time … thank you, Carol!
