With a handful of dedicated men and women, Singing Out was founded in September of 2011.

We are a not-for-profit, mixed-voice choir of gay, straight, trans and queer people who enjoy entertaining a wide variety of audiences with music including classical, traditional, and contemporary. Visit OUR MUSIC page to see past performance music content. There are no auditions, but the Artistic Director may decide voice placements for singers who are unsure of their vocal range. Solo and small ensemble performance opportunities will be available throughout the year, and simple choreography may be added to some pieces.

From our LGBTA base, Singing Out uses the power of music to entertain, heal and inspire the community to respect and value the differences of all people.

Singing Out enjoys two seasons each year. The first begins in February with a spring concert in June, and the second begins in August with a winter concert in January, both held at Peace Lutheran Church. See our Event Calendar for concert and rehearsal dates.

We also present a concert each season at the Lavendar Graduation ceremony at NMSU.

Our dues are $50 per season, collected at the beginning of the season. Dues are used to help purchase music for that season and to maintain Singing Out’s inclusion in the National and International GALA registry.
